Retro Summer with 50s Charm
Hello, lovely readers! I was asked a long time ago to swatch some charms for the amazingly generous LaTisa (a.k.a. @msnailgasm on Instagram). When she asked, I was having a lot of personal stuff going on, so I regrettably didn’t swatch anything until now. I hate to disappoint people who ask me for swatches and I hope this first swatch will jump start me into a series of fun manis using her amazing charms.
The first charm I chose was this adorable Retro Radio. I fell in love with this immediately because it reminded me of those fun ’50s beach movies.
I decided to pair it with a couple polishes from Essie’s Spring 2015 collection that kind of gave me the same retro feeling: “Blossom Dandy” (blue) and “Picked Perfect” (tan). I used two coats of each for my base and they were perfection! “Picked Perfect” just might be my ideal “mannequin hands” shade. I’ll have to do a straight swatch of that one to be sure. 😉
To add a little more to the retro theme, I found this 4-Point Star pattern in a pack of Stuck On Love Nail Vinyls by Love, Angeline that I bought a while back. I thought this pattern fit into my ’50s theme really well and added just enough flair to finish off the look. I sponged the blue on in 3 passes and it stood up really well over the tan.
So, what do you think? I’m diggin’ it.
Definitely go check out more of LaTisa’s charms on her Instagram page (@msnailgasm). She has an amazing variety to choose from and they’re all top quality.
Thanks for reading! I’ll be back with another fun mani soon.
