Nail Art Challenge: Vintage
Good morning, lovely readers! Today I have another challenge mani to share with you. The theme for this one was “Vintage”, but I didn’t want to do something flowery since my last mani was delphinium. I thought a cute cherry/gingham mani would work, and I have never done one before either. So, here is is… my vintage cherries mani.
I used all polish for this one, so you can see the lines aren’t exactly straight, but I think it kind of adds to the vintage effect. I started out with a white base (Zoya “Purity”) then added the light blue grid lines with Julep “Jeanne”. I added the darker blue squares with Sally Hansen “Pacific Blue” (original formula) using my Pure Color #10 brush from Stylish Nail Art Shop. I am completely loving this brush! Even with polish, I can get some pretty good detail.
After the gingham design was mostly dry, I added HK Girl top coat from Glisten & Glow because I knew it wouldn’t smear the pattern then added OPI Matte Top Coat on top of that. I cleaned up using my new favorite clean up brush from Jolie Polish then added the cherries using the dotting tool on the end of my clean up brush. How handy is that? I used the most intense red I could find which was OPI “Over & Over A-Gwen” then added the stems using OPI “You’re So Outta Lime!”.
As my finishing touch, I added this absolutely adorable cherries charm that I bought from The Sparkly Shop. I cannot get enough of these charms! So cute! And the ladies who run this shop are completely awesome too. Chantelle and Laura have given me a discount code for all of my followers. YAY! Use the code MAJIK15 at The Sparkly Shop to get 15% off your order. Sweet! Thanks, ladies! (Oh, and if you haven’t seen Laura’s nails, you MUST! She is the queen of glitter placement and all things sparkly. Check her out on Instagram @polishallthenails or at her blog polishallthenails.com.)
Here are a few more pics of this mani.
Thanks for reading! Hope you like this mani as much as I do.
