Nerdy Matte Chevrons with Charme
Hello lovely readers! Today I’m continuing the July Nail Art Challenge created by @californails on Instagram. This mani is for Day 7: Matte… only 1 day late.
I love matte manis! I especially love them with glitter polish. Something amazing happens when a glitter polish gets mattified. It looks like a precious stone to me… like something smoothed over time that really brings out the subtleties of the colors. Love it!
I used an untried polish from my stash as my base for this one: “The Lando System” by Nerd Lacquer. This is just two coats for full opacity. The lavender base with all those amazing glitters, plus a stunning blue shimmer is just breathtaking. I added OPI Matte Top Coat over that then used Chevron NailVinyls (by @teismom) to create the zigzags with OPI “This Gown Needs A Crown” (silver). I absolutely love the satin finish of “This Gown Needs A Crown” and I thought it fit well with the matte theme too. The last element is this super cute bow nail charm I bought from Daily Charme. Nail charms are something new to me, but I’m kinda into it!
Here are a few photos of my matte mani for day 7:
You can see the blue shimmer better on my pinkie nail in the close-up shot above. (Click the image to enlarge.)
Hope you like this. Let me know what you think.
